About Bret

 

Bret Morgan is a photographer of architecture and interiors, gardens and landscapes. He turned to photography as a profession after studying architectural history with William H. Jordy at Brown University and earning a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. His books include Rustic: Country Houses, Rural Dwellings, Wooded Retreats (Rizzoli); Historic Houses of the Hudson River Valley (Rizzoli); Shingle Styles: Innovation and Tradition in American Architecture (Abrams); The Architecture of the Shakers (W. W. Norton); and Buildings of Nevada, a part of the comprehensive series Buildings of the United States published by the Society of Architectural Historians and Oxford University Press.
